National Careers Week (NCW) is a week which is held annually on Monday 2nd March - Friday 6th March! It's a week to promote pupils getting careers and giving them good advice and setting them up for the working world.

We asked Courtney Fidler, Client Relationship Manager some questions about her career and the recruitment industry:

1 – How did you progress into a Client Relationship Manager role? I started my recruitment journey as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant recruiting for temporary drivers, I then progressed into Engineering recruitment recruiting for a range of different positions including Welders, CNC Machinists, Assemblers, Fitters but I was more passionate about the client side of the process. Meeting the clients and learning about their businesses really interested me. 

2 – What interests you about the recruitment industry? I like learning how different companies run their business and the recruitment processes they have in place. Everywhere is different and has a different process in place, it's working out where an agency fits in and how they can support that particular company. 

3 – What did you want to do when you left school/college? I really wanted to become a Travel Consultant and I actually completed my A-Levels in Travel & Tourism.

4 – What do you enjoy most about your job? I really enjoy attending client meetings and learning about new businesses. I equally love that my role involves networking events and particularly enjoyed attending the East Cambs Business Boost & Peterborough Biscuit. It’s a really fun and busy day making new connections for potential business.

Courtney has a wealth of experience in recruitment having worked her way up from an Administrator to her new position with experience spanning 2.5 years. Part of Courtney’s role is be to work closely with our Director Kayleigh Bysouth in the growth of our marketplace and developing new relationships, therefore Courtney has become the face of the business attending our networking events and exhibitions alongside speaking to potential prospects.
