National Careers Week (NCW) is a week which is held annually on Monday 2nd March - Friday 6th March! It's a week to promote pupils getting careers and giving them good advice and setting them up for the working world.

We asked Fausta Linkeviciute, Temporaries Recruitment Consultant some questions about her career and the recruitment industry:

1 – What did you want to do when you left school/college? I wanted to find a job with progression opportunities. Somewhere where I could stay for a long time and progress within my career. I didn’t really know what industry or doing what but I wanted a Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm to make sure that I had my weekends free.

 2 – How did you get into an office job? Started an apprenticeship as I found that it was hard to get into an office role without any experience. When I completed my apprenticeship I worked my way up.

3 – Why does the temporary division in recruitment interest you? I like how fast passed and busy it is and how things change all the time. Everyday is different and it certainly tests my skills and abilities.

4 – What advice would you give to candidates who are looking for temp work? I would advise people not be put off by temporary work. Temporary positions can, a lot of the time lead to permanent work and it is an opportunity to gain further experience that you are able to add onto your CV even if the role is just temporary. Temporary work can help you get your foot through to door for a career that you want to progress in.
