This incredible achievement is a testament to the unwavering support from the community and the dedication of George Radcliffe’s family in their mission to fund vital research into rhabdomyosarcoma.

George’s Story

Just George was founded in memory of George Radcliffe, a bright and energetic four-year-old from Isleham, near Newmarket. In May 2022, George was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer. Despite his brave fight, he sadly passed away in October 2023.

Determined to honour their son’s legacy and help other families facing similar battles, George’s parents, Lisa and David, launched the Just George fund through the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG). Their goal is to support research into rhabdomyosarcoma, helping to develop better, less harsh treatments for children diagnosed in the future.

Fundraising Efforts – A Community United

Reaching £100,000 would not have been possible without the incredible support from friends, family, and local businesses. Over the past year, the community has come together in so many ways to raise funds, from sports challenges and golf tournaments to bake sales, darts competitions, and fun days.

One particularly inspiring fundraiser was Bernie, a young supporter who took part in a sponsored haircut. She not only donated her hair to create wigs for children with cancer but also raised over £1,300 for Just George. Stories like these highlight the amazing generosity and dedication of those rallying behind this cause.

Making a Difference – Funding Vital Research

The funds raised by Just George are being used to support two crucial research projects focused on improving treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma. These projects aim to:
