Job Duties:

• Ensuring full compliance with Goods Vehicle Operator Licence undertakings

• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and auditable vehicle, driver and tachograph records

• Monitoring driver hours and Working Time Directive compliance

• Managing digital tachograph downloads, analysis and corrective actions

• Overseeing preventative maintenance schedules and statutory safety inspections

• Implementing and managing robust vehicle defect reporting systems

• Conducting regular internal compliance audits and identifying areas for improvement

• Acting as the primary point of contact for DVSA, the Traffic Commissioner and enforcement bodies

• Investigating transport-related incidents, non-conformances and regulatory breaches

• Ensuring all drivers are appropriately licensed, trained and medically fit to drive

• Developing and maintaining transport compliance policies and procedures

• Driving a culture of continuous improvement across safety, compliance and operational standards

What we are looking for:

• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) – Road Transport

• Proven experience as a Transport Manager managing a commercial fleet

• Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance and DVSA regulations

• Experience implementing Safe Systems of Work

• Full UK Driving Licence (relevant vehicle categories)

• Excellent leadership and organisational skills

• Calm, adaptable and solution-focused under pressure
