We are working with an established engineering business looking for a Technical Author with a strong engineering foundation. This role is suited to someone who understands engineering systems and can translate complex technical data into compliant, structured documentation.

You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical publications supporting aircraft interior equipment, ensuring full compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards.

Job Duties:

• Produce Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Service Information Letters (SILs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and installation documentation

• Develop maintenance and crew training manuals aligned to engineering specifications

• Interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and technical data to create accurate documentation

• Ensure all publications comply with OEM and regulatory standards (CAA, EASA, FAA)

• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Configuration teams

• Deliver documentation to strict timelines, supporting On Time Delivery (OTD) targets

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience producing technical publications within an engineering environment

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and documentation standards

• Experience using authoring tools (e.g. Adobe FrameMaker)

• Experience with 2D illustration tools (e.g. IsoDraw)

• Working knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE100)

• Exposure to iSpec2200 desirable

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering data

• Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred)
