Busy Bee Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established Building Services specialist in their search for an experienced Small Works Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a varied portfolio of mechanical projects ranging from approximately £15,000 to £1,000,000, managing each project from initial tender and planning through to installation, commissioning and final handover.

Working across projects including heating plant replacements, ventilation upgrades, pipework installations and wider mechanical building services, you will combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, client management and effective project delivery.

Job Duties:

‍

• Manage mechanical building services projects from tender enquiry and pricing through to completion and final handover.

• Plan and coordinate heating plant replacements, ventilation replacements and upgrades, pipework upgrades and associated mechanical works.

• Coordinate directly employed labour and specialist subcontractors.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, principal contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

• Oversee site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

• Take responsibility for project Health & Safety, including RAMS, site procedures and statutory requirements.

• Manage the procurement of plant, materials, equipment and subcontract packages.

• Carry out regular site quality audits and inspections, ensuring any issues are addressed promptly.

• Manage project costs, variations, applications, forecasts and overall financial performance.

• Produce and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress against key milestones.

• Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure systems are correctly tested and commissioned.

• Manage snagging, completion documentation, O&M information and final project handover.

• Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Provide regular project progress and commercial updates to internal management and clients.

What We're Looking For:

‍

• Strong mechanical knowledge covering heating, ventilation, HVAC, plant rooms and mechanical pipework systems is desirable.

• Experience delivering projects.

• Experience working with principal contractors and/or directly with end-user clients.

• Proven ability to effectively manage direct labour and subcontractors.

• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, variations and project financial performance.

• Good understanding of construction Health & Safety requirements.

• Experience across procurement, project programmes, quality control and commissioning.

• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong organisation with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to take ownership from commencement through to handover.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
