We’re currently working with a friendly engineering company that designs and builds bespoke specialist machinery, and they’re exploring the addition of a hands-on Production Manager to lead their production team.

This is a proper roll-your-sleeves-up role — perfect for someone who enjoys being involved in machine builds while also keeping production organised and on track. You’ll be managing a close-knit team of four, balancing planning and admin with real shop-floor involvement.

Job Duties:

• Planning, organising and coordinating production schedules

• Supporting and motivating the team

• Hand-on involvement in the build and assembly of specialist machinery

• Conducting staff appraisals and 1-1’s

• Ensuring quality, efficiency and deadlines are met

• Liaising with other areas of the business to support smooth operations

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a Production Manager or similar role

• A strong mechanical ability and practical engineering knowledge

• The ability to juggle hands-on work with planning and administration

• Confident people-management skills in a small team environment

• A proactive, flexible and approachable attitude

• Experience with Lean manufacturing, six sigma or similar methodologies
