We are recruiting for an experienced and technically minded Operations Manager to join a growing and innovative organisation based in Royston. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional to take ownership of operational performance, equipment reliability and the successful delivery of projects across multiple customer sites.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment operates efficiently, programmes are delivered effectively and continuous improvement remains at the forefront of operations.

Key Responsibilities

‍

• Oversee day to day operational activities, ensuring equipment reliability and performance across multiple sites.

• Manage reactive and preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.

• Plan and coordinate new equipment installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

• Lead, support and develop technical teams, providing guidance and training where required.

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, equipment performance and working processes.

• Monitor operational costs, budgets and performance against agreed targets.

• Investigate technical issues, carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

• Manage equipment upgrades and improvements through structured change management processes.

• Work closely with internal departments, customers and external partners to ensure smooth operations.

• Maintain high standards of health, safety and operational compliance.

Ideal Candidate

‍

• Strong technical understanding of equipment maintenance, engineering or mechanical/electrical systems.

• Experience managing maintenance programmes, equipment installations or technical projects.

• Proven ability to lead and develop teams while managing multiple operational priorities.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering or a related technical industry would be advantageous.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
