Are you a hands-on Jig & Fixture Technician looking to join a busy toolroom environment where precision, quality and practical problem-solving are at the heart of the role? Our client is looking for an experienced individual to manufacture, repair, modify and maintain jigs, fixtures, gauges and production tooling within an injection moulding environment.

Job Duties:

• Manufacture, repair, maintain and modify jigs, fixtures, assembly aids, checking fixtures and production support tooling to required specifications.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, specifications and sample components to produce accurate tooling and fixture solutions.

• Operate standard toolroom equipment including milling machines, lathes, drills, grinders, saws and hand tools.

• Carry out fitting, assembly, adjustment and bench work to ensure jigs and fixtures function correctly and are suitable for production use.

• Inspect completed work using verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other appropriate measuring equipment.

• Assist with tool trials, fixture validation and continuous improvement activities to improve production flow, quality and repeatability.

• Work closely with Toolmakers, Setters, Maintenance, Quality and Production teams to investigate problems and implement practical corrective actions

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience within a toolroom, engineering workshop, manufacturing environment or similar hands-on technical role.

• Good mechanical aptitude with an understanding of jigs, fixtures and production tooling.

• Competence using manual machining equipment and hand-fitting techniques.

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, tolerances and work instructions.

• Strong attention to detail with a practical, quality-focused approach to problem solving.

• A recognised apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification would be desirable.
