We are working with a growing, multi entity manufacturing business in Cambridgeshire that is scaling through both organic growth and acquisitions. Backed by an international group but still operating with that agile SME feel, they are at a point where finance needs to step up and lead from the front.

This is not a “sit back and report the numbers” role – you will own them, shape them and improve how everything runs. If you are a Financial Controller who likes control (and not just in title), this is a solid step into a visible and high-impact role.

Who are we?

Job Duties:

• Owning the full month-end close across multiple entities - tight deadlines, no excuses

• Delivering accurate reporting into group (WD3 close – pace is key)

• Keeping balance sheets clean and controls tight

• Managing VAT/CIS and staying on top of compliance

• Driving improvements across systems and processes (multiple ERPs in play)

• Overseeing banking, cashflow, and credit control exposure

• Leading and developing a small finance team of two

What we are looking for:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

• Strong SME experience — you have been hands on and not just reviewing

• Comfortable in fast paced environments with tight reporting deadlines

• Ideally manufacturing or engineering exposure (WIP / stock understanding helps)

• Someone who spots problems early and actually fixes them
