We’re looking for a Controls & Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team, working across CAD design, control systems, PLCs, product development, testing and continuous improvement.

Job Duties:

‍

• Design and produce detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.

• Support new product development, including testing, validation and implementation.

• Complete engineering administration, including part number creation and technical documentation.

• Drive continuous improvement of existing products, processes and designs.

• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including manuals, work instructions and guides.

• Provide technical and application support to customers and internal teams.

• Research, develop and test control systems, including PLC and electrical control applications.

What we are looking for:

‍

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline — preferred but not essential.

• Practical experience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.

• Knowledge of electrical and diesel control systems, with PLC, Codesys and scripting experience desirable.

• 1+ years’ experience in a design office, including a university placement/year in industry or commercial experience.

• A proactive, can-do attitude with the flexibility to support colleagues and work as part of a team.

• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Full UK driving license and valid passport required as this role may require travel both UK wide and internationally to visit customers and attend exhibitions.
