Busy Bee Recruitment are currently working with a leading national Care and Education company who specialise in providing residential living facilities alongside SEN schooling for young people with learning difficulties and complex health needs.
An exciting opportunity has come available for a experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our clients SEN School based in Wakefield which supports young people aged 11-19 with autism, learning disabilities, communication and behavioural needs.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Support students with learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
- Help young people with a range of needs, assisting them with their learning and development in the classroom
- Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
- Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people
- Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues
- Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role
- The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience working with young people beneficial but not essential
- Desire to put people first at all times, treating them as individuals
- Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
- Good communication skills written and verbal
- A passion for working and learning with children
